Top 5 Post-Surgery Exercises

1Quad Sets

This is the most basic exercise that activates the muscles. While lying down, tighten your thighs and press a bolster or towel under your knees.

Duration: 5-10 seconds hold, 10 reps

2Straight Leg Raises

While lying flat, keep your operated leg straight and raise it 12 inches up. Lower slowly.

Duration: 5 seconds hold, 10 reps

3Heel Slides

While lying flat, slide your heel to bend your knee. As comfortable as possible. Then slowly straighten.

Duration: 10 reps

4Knee Bends (Seated)

While sitting on a chair, extend your operated leg forward and bend your knee while putting weight on your heel. Slowly straighten.

Duration: 10 reps, 3 sets

5Sit to Stand

Stand up from a chair without using your hands. Lean slightly forward. This is very important for building strength.

Duration: 10 reps
